“The story moves at a good pace, is enhanced by the illustrations, and is told through chapters appropriate in length for the complexity of the concept. While this is an excellent book for a child who faces a similar struggle, it can help all children learn to be kinder to those who struggle with reading.” Kimberlee J. Benart, Readers’ Favorite Reviewer.

LORILYN SHARES HER THOUGHTS On Her New Book Release: Book Love: An Early Chapter Book

“Never again would I be bored. If I had a book, I had a friend. I could read whenever I wanted, and I didn’t even need a wire to plug my book into the wall.”

Such is the magical journey into the world of reading a young girl discovers after failing first grade.

Book Love is a work of fiction for children by Lorilyn Roberts. Everyone learns at a different pace. Some children learn to read very early, while others have difficulty learning to read until they’ve been in school for a few years.

It’s said that some of the greatest minds in history didn’t learn to read until they were older, like Einstein, who didn’t learn to read until he was 9.

A little girl in second grade is embarrassed when she is called upon to read out loud in front of the class. When she is told she has to take Grade 1 over again, she’s even more embarrassed.

Gradually she develops her own reading skills, but it’s a day stuck at home sick in bed that introduces the many positive possibilities found in books. One story leads to another, and soon this little girl can’t stop reading – she’s found a passion for books.

Lorilyn Roberts’s early chapter book, Book Love, is a touching story about a little girl who struggles with reading. At first, embarrassed by her inability to read, this little girl hates books and everything books have to offer. As the plot evolves, the girl learns to read and gradually develops an interest in books.

The story is told in simple language so a young reader, especially one struggling with reading, can sound out the words and learn to read as they realize that perhaps their problems with reading are not unique to them alone.

The line drawings are sweet and add another dimension to the story. Young readers will instantly feel a bond with this little girl as everyone has their own struggles, whether with reading or something else.

Beautifully and compassionately told by a masterful writer.

Lorilyn sharing books with children in Kathmandu, Nepal

I remember when I homeschooled my daughters how hard I searched for books to get my daughters excited about reading. With the new school year just beginning and many children lagging behind following a year of Covid challenges, Book Love will be a hit with school-age kids who struggle with reading.

It’s hard to overestimate how important reading is as a lifelong skill. Children develop analytical thinking from reading. Based on what I heard a famous general once said, my motto for Book Love is: Young readers become world leaders.

The pre-order price is 99¢ until September 16. The publication date on Amazon is September 17.

Book Love will be available on all book platforms and in bookstores through Ingram. By making it available as a preorder on Amazon, I want to give parents, teachers, and librarians an advanced opportunity to incorporate it into their educational curriculum for this year. Grade level will depend on the child, but I would say first grade (with help) through third grade (independent reader) would be most appropriate.

I’m also available for personal appearances at schools and homeschooling events in the North-Central Florida area. Please contact me at to make arrangements.

A short blurb from another Readers’ Favorite reviewer:

Book Love is beautiful inside and out. Roberts uses a child to teach children the love of books and it works beautifully. This book is a must for elementary classrooms and libraries. I highly recommend Book Love by Lorilyn Roberts if you have a child wanting to learn to read.

PRESS RELEASE: “Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul” Receives a Warm Literary Welcome by Readers’ Favorite

Readers’ Favorite announces the review of the Non-Fiction – Memoir book “Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul” by Lorilyn Roberts, currently available at

Readers’ Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. They have earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Harper Collins, and have received the “Best Websites for Authors” and “Honoring Excellence” awards from the Association of Independent Authors. “As Lorilyn sat at traffic lights in a small town in Florida, she experienced the strangest feeling that made her deeply question her life. This began a journey of self-reflection and a desire to turn away from chasing materialistic objects and instead to follow God’s guidance. Follow Lorilyn’s journey from childhood to adulthood and the many pivotal events and beloved furry friends that impacted her life in Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul.

As Lorilyn suffered the trauma of divorce, grief, serious illness, and many of life’s challenges, she has been blessed with the companionship and love of her furry helpers. Throughout her life, the joy and blessing of animals have taught her that God is always good and virtuous even if there are times when we doubt his existence or question his motives. Lorilyn’s memoir is filled with stories of amazing kindness, bravery, joy, and extraordinary, unexplained incidents. Throughout the Bible, there are stories that reveal how animals have been sent to protect and help us. Tails and Purrs is a perfect example of this.

“Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul,” Lorilyn’s memoir, is absolutely captivating, very honest, and comforting. Her accounts of the many animals that have touched her life and brought her so much love and happiness will resound with any animal lover. Gypsy’s story sent goosebumps down my spine; her time spent with this wonderful dog and their shared appreciation of nature will bring tears of joy. The concept that animals come into your life when you need them most is so very true. I found Lorilyn and her family a great inspiration as they selflessly rescued, fostered, and adopted so many animals. I loved her daughter’s abundant kindness and generosity towards those in need; she had a truly beautiful soul.

The vision Lorilyn experienced on the beach was very powerful as she questioned if we can influence our destiny. You will experience a wide range of emotions while reading this memoir, from complete joy and warmth as animals were rescued and nursed back to health to heartbreak as they faced the end of their lives or illness. Peasy’s story reminds us to be patient with animals who have experienced trauma or abuse. The two stories that touched me the most profoundly were Faye the Momma cat and Molly the Jack Russell terrier; be prepared to reach for a handkerchief before reading these. Superb read and highly recommended.”

NEW BOOK RELEASE: “Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul,” by Lorilyn Roberts

I’m very excited about my newest release, Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul.

If you love animals, this book is for you. Between the covers are many stories about the four-legged friends that have impacted my life. We have a rich tradition in the Roberts’ household of adopting strays off the streets and fostering cats through the Humane Society, and my family spent twenty-plus years in the dog show world, finishing half a dozen champions and breeding many other champions finished by others.

My goal, in the beginning, was just to entertain, but the stories became more than that. They became a glimpse into my soul. I tried to imagine what kind of person I would be today without all the animals over the past sixty years that have touched me spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

God supernaturally brought dogs and cats into my life during good times and difficult days that, in some instances, turned into weeks or months. My furry friends became my soulmates along the way. They showed me God’s unconditional love when I needed that wet kiss on the nose or that head butt or that reassuring wagging tail—that I mattered, that I was important, and that I would get to the other side of the latest trial or tribulation.

Then I had an unusual thought: What if I’d never seen the faces of all the animals I’ve cared for, rescued, and loved? What if I’d never hugged them? But alas, God knew I needed them as much as they needed me.

Through my animals, I feel God’s unconditional love. I sense my Savior’s reassuring presence, and I hear His kind, gentle voice whisper to my soul. The sound of a purr and the wagging of a tail speak to the undeniable spiritual connection between people and animals.

I hope you will take time out of your busy life, away from the woes that steal our joy, away from Covid-19, and away from all those accusing voices that rob us of God’s heavenly presence. Be still. This world is passing away, but God never meant for us to be alone. Even during Covid, our furry friends can be with us.

Curl up with your four-legged companion and enjoy my latest book, Tails and Purrs for the Heart and Soul. Many answers to probing questions lie within its pages.

Available as an ebook and paperback for $12:95 on Amazon

NEW BOOK VIA STANDARD NEWSWIRE PRESS RELEASE: “Seventh Dimension – The Howling: A Young Adult Fantasy”

Seventh Dimension – The Howling: A Young Adult Fantasy, New Release, Completing the Epic Six Volume Series

Rear Guard Publishing
Sept. 18, 2019

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 18, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ — Seventh Dimension – The Howling, the sixth and final book in the Seventh Dimension Series, is now available wherever books are sold. Daniel Sperling, one of the protagonists, enters the seventh dimension shortly before the return of the Messiah. As one of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists called by Yeshua, the horrors of the Day of the Lord take center stage.

The Seventh Dimension Series racks up its 35th award with The Howling winning the 2019 Readers’ Favorite Bronze Award for Young Adult religious fiction. The series has a 4.6 rating out of five stars on Amazon with two hundred reviews.

“The unexamined life toys with mediocrity, squelches creativity, and risks squandering God’s redemptive call,” Lorilyn says. “My desire in writing the Seventh Dimension Series, which took seven years, was to make the reader think. The millennial generation must be challenged to read more, question more, and consider the most critical question of all—where will he spend eternity?

“The Seventh Dimension Series invites evangelical Christians, homeschooling families, Messianic Jews, spiritually hungry young adults, and wanderers who are not lost to consider their purpose in an increasingly hostile world. Readers familiar with the works of C.S. Lewis and John Bunyan will see their influence in my words. These classical authors helped to shape my worldview and inspired me to pursue my calling as a writer.

“As a former homeschooling mother, I’ve become more reflective in my golden years. When my children reached adulthood, I embarked on a deeper spiritual quest. A.W. Tozer, Charles Spurgeon, Nabeel Qureshi, Chuck Missler, Dr. Michael L. Brown, Pastor Steve Cioccolanti, Amir Tsarfati, Pastor J.D. Farag, researcher/author Thomas Horn, as well as many others, living and deceased, inspired me to live more passionately for Jesus Christ. Without their spiritual insights, forward-thinking, and apologetic approach to Scripture, I could not have written the Seventh Dimension Series. May God receive the glory.”

BOOK RELEASE: “Seventh Dimension – The Howling: A Young Adult Fantasy,” by Lorilyn Roberts

When I think about what a witness the book is to the Lord’s return, I’m hopeful with good sales Amazon will promote The Howling to all those who aren’t saved because they promote books that sell well. So, you would be helping to reach the lost in an indirect way. I can’t afford the kind of advertising it would take to get it in front of that many eyes.

There is much in this book that is a witness to Jesus, and it’s the last book in the Seventh Dimension Series, so please help me to reach more people by sharing it with your friends. I guarantee, if you read it, you will see the events surrounding Jesus’ return in a very different way.

If you haven’t read the whole series, you can still enjoy the last book, The Howling, as a stand-alone. However, Amazon has already put together a page that has all six books listed where you can buy all of them easily.

Seventh Dimension – The Prescience: A Young Adult Fantasy by Lorilyn Roberts is the fifth book in the Seventh Dimension series that has a very unique take on time travel. Daniel and Shale, a recently engaged (betrothed) couple, found a lost orphan girl in Jerusalem and try to save her from the devastated city. From there, they embark on God’s plan and return to the first century and search for Daniel’s father who has gone missing. Finding his father could be the first step in unraveling the mystery of a tragedy that is waiting to happen. However, it is proving to be more dangerous and difficult than both of them ever thought. There are far too many enemies and dangers awaiting them, and all they can do is fight them together. But can they?

With religious themes mixed with coming of age, the novel is definitely very different and the author seems to be in her element here. I enjoyed the time travel, how the two main characters fought the odds together and came out victorious in the end. Although I have not read the previous novels in the series, I still enjoyed it and caught up with the story really quickly. The story was fast-paced and entertaining. Right from the beginning, the story gripped my attention. The chemistry between Shale and Daniel was perfect; they respected each other with intensity and worked together as a team. The element of time travel was spot on; the author ensured that the characters, the dialogues, and even the environment were time appropriate. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the novel! A really entertaining coming of age story.”

Author’s Note: I truly believe we are living in the end times. All my Young Adult books have an apocalyptic theme, and as a result, I have spent a great deal of time looking at Scriptures concerning Jesus’ return. If you have not accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, I urge you to do so today.
In December 2016, I had no idea that in January 2017, I would be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. We don’t know the number of our days, We don’t know what tomorrow may bring.
All it takes is just a simple prayer confessing to God you are a sinner and asking Jesus to come into your heart. Once you believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross, you will be saved. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
If you have already accepted Jesus as your Savior, may God help you to live each day for Him. I pray that God uses my cancer diagnosis and treatment to make me more like Jesus. It’s been quite a journey. And praise the Lord, it’s not yet over!

YOUNG-ADULT CHRISTIAN FANTASY NOVEL OFFERS HOPE, INSPIRATION FOR BULLIED AND TROUBLED TEENS: Press Release for “Seventh Dimension – The Door: A Young Adult Fantsy,” by Lorilyn Roberts

Young-Adult Christian Fantasy Novel Offers Hope, Inspiration for Bullied and Troubled Teens

March 7, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ — For every child who struggles with doubt, for every kid who has been bullied, for every teen who comes from a broken home, and for every young adult who longs to be understood – there is hope.

Best-selling author Lorilyn Roberts shares once again the power of redemption in this Christian coming-of-age novel. Written in first-person, Seventh Dimension – The Door reads like a first-hand account by a young girl, Shale Snyder, who is treated unfairly by her family, school, and classmates. Fear distorts her sense of self-worth and she is enveloped with guilt because of a secret from her past.

While on a sojourn similar to Christian in Pilgrim’s Progress, Shale discovers talking animals and a handsome young man with whom she falls in love. Her journey is one of self-discovery as she battles personal demons, family conflict, and wicked underlings, and comes face-to-face with a personal decision she must make – bound up in the king she meets in first-century Israel.

“I spent two years developing the plot,” says Roberts, “as part of my Masters in Creative Writing. I love the classics, particularly books by Charles Dickens, Fydor Dostoevsky, Emily Bronte, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. I hoped to provide an entertaining story that would evoke deep spiritual longing.” Roberts adds, “I was a troubled child from a broken home on the road to juvenile delinquency – until I met the king.”

From March 1 through March 16, Roberts is offering the Kindle version of Seventh Dimension – The Door for 99 cents. Order from the launch site and enter the drawing for a Kindle, a $50 Amazon gift card, and a $10 Starbucks card (no purchase is necessary for the raffle).
