Last Chapter
Peering out over the hot Egyptian sands, I saw the three Great Pyramids of Giza. The trip from Alaska was so quick that I barely had time to retrieve Rophe and walk back to the viewing window. The immense height of the tallest one struck me.
Did the Shining Ones build them thousands of years ago, as my father alluded to? We seemed to be over the middle one, stationary and lingering, which gave me a moment to appreciate the pyramidal energy the UFO absorbed.
How did the Egyptians build these massive structures to such precise measurements and move them without modern technology?
A voice inside me whispered, “They didn’t.”
The history of the pyramids and what lay beneath them was an enigma. No one seemed to agree on who built them or why.
As I admired their grandeur, contemplating their place in the world’s scheme of cultural significance and antediluvian history, I witnessed something I could never have imagined.
Against the backdrop of the blue sky, the heavens receded. For a moment, I could see into another dimension.
In this other place, I beheld a magnificent lion whose steely eyes spoke of wisdom. His stoic face reflected superiority over every creature in the universe. His bronze mane rippled in the winds of time as he stood against the backdrop of a mighty throne surrounded by angels.
Captivated by his fierceness, I watched. Without warning, he opened his mouth. His roar reverberated across the desert sands and shook the fabric of the universe.
The vision shocked me. Full of trepidation, I clung to Rophe. In the moment of the lion’s thunderous battle cry, I heard him proclaim, “What hath God wrought!”
The lion’s roar pierced my heart. I squeezed Rophe in my arms, terrified of what the lion said. Those words, now so familiar to me, rocked me to the core. And then, everything changed.

Chapter 1
I found myself in a place for which I had no words. Another planet? Another civilization? Wherever I was, it wasn’t Earth. I saw too many strange-looking creatures. Even Rophe looked bewildered.
The mysterious entities surrounded a flaming throne. On the throne sat a supreme being who personified a king. His countenance radiated a brilliant light, shining like jasper and carnelian. An emerald rainbow encircled the throne, and a fiery river emanated from its base.
Life forms unlike any I had ever seen filled the throne room. They were above me, below me, far away, and near, scattered like stars in a Celestial Sea—the attention of every creature focused on the imposing figure who sat on the throne. Many of the celestials, powerful in stature, were armed with spiritual weapons, as if ready to carry out any command the king uttered.
The most unusual creatures faced the being seated on the throne. They had eyes in the front and the back, even under their wings, like angelic beings. One creature had the face of an ox, another, an eagle, a third, a lion, and the fourth, a man. They were in constant worship and protective vigilance around the throne.
The king’s eyes entranced me, and my heart leaped with joy from his gaze. Among the throngs of creatures, how did he find me? I should have been afraid, but I wasn’t. I had already been given supernatural protection from fear.
His countenance spoke of wisdom and power, but even more than that, I felt compassion; terrifying yet comforting. His eyes were all-knowing, but I did not feel judged. Instead, they kindled a longing within me, even if I was unsure what I was longing for.
His presence transcended everything, and wrapped in that transcendence was love. Vulnerable and mighty, I understood unconditional love for the first time. His love could not be bought or defeated, and it had no beginning and no end. His gaze, unmistakably human and unmistakably “other,” penetrated my soul. I felt his love to be as powerful as the strongest weapon ever made, but as tender as a feather floating to the ground.
I heard him say within my soul, “I am the Word.”
In that fleeting moment, despite my perfect S.A.T. score, I was overwhelmed by how little I knew about the Word. I could hear in my mind the principal praising me, “Every Ivy League school and university will offer you a full scholarship. They have already started contacting me. You can go anywhere you want, and that is rare.”
That sounded so impressive at the time, but I knew nothing about the Word. Nothing. For the first time, I realized, all those words were nothing compared to knowing the Word who stood before me.
The king focused on me among all the creatures present. Surely, the others knew far more than I could ever imagine. Maybe they were interdimensional or extraterrestrial beings. I didn’t know who they were, but the king noticed me.
His clothing was as white as snow, and his white woolen hair spoke of wisdom. His face was ageless, older than time, beyond time, and not restrained by human limitations, even though he appeared to be a man. I knew in my heart he was all-knowing and all-wise.
As I gazed around the throne room, I saw colors I couldn’t describe. I heard drumbeats, softly at first, and then increasing in intensity. Harps and lyres joined the drumbeats, adding meaning and beauty. The music was more than musical notes on a sheet of paper. I sensed it was alive—like a symphony encompassing all that breathed.
The beauty overcame me, from the stars and the planets to the rivers and the seas; the birds in the sky and the animals in the forest. The cadence echoed the rhythm of the universe. Everything beat to the drumbeat of unity, as one in the spirit.
Then, unexpectedly, somewhere, far away, I heard human voices that were not singing or worshipping. They spoke angry words. Words that were hurtful and dark. My heart ached for them. They were missing the dance.
As I stood taking it all in, my helper touched my arm. “Chumana, look.”
I returned my gaze to the throne. A king, yes, a mighty king. But who was this king on the throne? Was this the king whom Shale had spoken of in our Bible studies? I knew he was the lion who roared in the heavens. I also knew he was more than a mere mortal.
Shale said the Jewish king was God in the flesh. That meant he must be immortal. He must be more than human. He must also be divine, and this must be the center of the entire universe. The more I questioned, the more I understood, and the more I understood, the more I wanted to know.
“Behold, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah,” an angel shouted.
And everyone fell prostrate before the king seated on the throne.
This must be Jesus, who is both human and divine. How could he not be when his presence evoked the worship of every creature in the universe?
That also begged the most important question? Why would he waste his time on lowly humans with all his power, might, and authority? He didn’t need humans. He owned the universe. Everything belonged to him. Or did it?
My ignorance humbled me. I didn’t know anything about the most important things in life. I had been pursuing meaningless things. Here, I found life to the fullest. No death, no mourning, no worry, no fear. And, most of all, no darkness.
Suddenly, I realized his words had not only touched me but also Rophe. My cat squirmed out of my arms before I could stop him. His strength was greater than mine, as my strength had left when I laid eyes on the king. I knelt on the glassy sea and released my furry companion from my embrace. Watching him scamper to parts unknown, I hoped he would return to me.
“Indeed, what hath God wrought?” I whispered under my breath. He was doing something, but I wasn’t sure what. I felt a hand touch me reassuringly. “Chumana, you have been chosen.”
After my initial fear left, my strength returned, and I stood. I asked the angelic creature, who seemed so mighty and revered, “What do you mean?”
“The king loves you and has called you. That’s why you are here.”
I searched among the throngs but didn’t see Rophe. “Maybe I shouldn’t have brought my cat with me,” I said. “I don’t know where he went.”
“He is here,” the angel assured me. The king loves all the animals. When you leave the king’s throne room, Rophe will be with you. He is your guide on your journey.”
The words strengthened me, and my helper continued. “Here, there is no worry, fear, trepidation, or sorrow. The king provides for all your needs.”
I nodded, relieved. Was I returning home so soon?
“But for now,” the messenger continued, “Listen to the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Otherwise, you can’t accomplish your given purpose.”
I wanted to stay here forever. Looking out over the worshippers gathered before the king, I knew something significant was about to happen.
The messenger added, “You are in the presence of the king whom you will come to understand as the Alpha and the Omega, which is outside of time and beyond the veil. He has many names because of his divine nature.”
“What should I call him?” I asked.
The messenger replied, “Call him Moshel for Ruler, a title that is most fitting for the Eighth Dimension, outside of time.”
“What does that mean?” I asked.
My helper reassured me. “You will understand when you need to. For now, just worship.”
I studied the celestial being who was my helper. He looked more human than the winged beings closest to the throne. He was about seven feet tall, an imposing figure, and his arms and legs gleamed like burnished bronze. “What should I call you?”
“Raziel,” he replied.
I asked in a hesitant voice, “Am I dead?”
His eyes latched onto mine. “No. Eventually, you will return to your familiar world, but not before you experience something beyond the vale. You must listen to the ruler on high, the king, whom Christians call Jesus, the Jews Yeshua, but you will call him Moshel.”
I focused my eyes on Moshel. He was magnificent. Frighteningly real, and gloriously infinite. I said to my helper. “If he has something to tell me, I must not be afraid. I must approach the throne. Despite my past skepticism, I believe he is who the Bible says he is, for he has revealed himself. Will you come with me?”
Raziel took me by the hand. As we walked, I sensed every eye watching me. Inhaling deeply, my heart palpitated, not in fear, but in anticipation.
When I stood before the king, my legs became weak. I bowed in adoration and waited for him to speak. His words pierced my heart. They were powerful, like a proclamation, but even more than that.
“Dear Chumana, know this. I have made you. I will carry you. I will sustain you and rescue you. Go now, and trust in me, and do not be afraid.”
I nodded, as tears welled in my eyes. Moshel’s voice reverberated across the heavens and the throne room. I also perceived his words deep within my soul.
Then, everything faded from view, and I was walking along a golden path lit by heavenly stars. Straight ahead, Rophe waited for me to catch up. I heard him in a way I had never experienced before. “Follow me.”
