I found this short little book, Your Maker Is Your Husband, by Pearl Nsiaj Kumi, to be a great encouragement and reminder of God’s faithfulness for those like me who find themselves single after being married. For years, I felt like I was walking around with a big “D” on my forehead. But if you read the Scriptures, that’s not how God sees a divorced woman.
I didn’t know what to expect when I bought this book because it’s a controversial topic, but the Christian foundation is solid. Man’s judgment is harsher than God’s. God is MY HUSBAND, my ALL in ALL. I appreciate the reminder that I am never alone.
After 35 years, following a painful divorce and raising two daughters as a single mom, despite all my flaws, which my daughters would gladly tell you about, I praise God for His complete faithfulness and unconditional love for me. Your Maker is Your Husband is a gentle reminder of what God has done and will continue to do for me (and all single women who trust in the Lord) into the future.
