PRAISE FOR LORILYN’S BOOK GOD’S GOOD WORKS
Lorilyn Roberts has a gift for telling stories, and her devotionals are filled with inspirational Christian truths. When I read her devotionals, I could clearly see her love for God. Some of my favorite chapters were Chapters 5, 8, and 11. In Chapter 5, she compares the structure of the Bible to a novel, and this helps people understand the Bible better. It does have a beginning, middle, and end. Plus, the climax is the death and resurrection of Jesus. I thought these points were helpful for people.
In Chapter 8 “The Next Man Up: Are You Ready?” Roberts wrote a very inspiring devotional about the backup quarterback who played in the Kennesaw State University versus Wofford game. In Chapter 11, she tells the heartwarming story of how she adopted a child from Nepal.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes in the book: “What calling has God put on your heart? Pray about it. What longing keeps you awake at night? Ask God to fulfill it. What grieves your soul? Ask God what you can do about it. Don’t lose heart. What stirs your heart stirs the heart of God even more.”
