Recently, I wrote an article as a guest on the CIPA blog, “Rejection to Best-Seller: Why Christian Authors Need CIPA.” I share a bit of my journey when I began writing for publication years ago. I hope indie authors will find it helpful and encouraging.

Here is an excerpt: Because the indie publishing world is constantly changing, what worked years ago when I hosted the John 3:16 Marketing Network is not as effective today. When Twitter (X) was the rage, and Facebook was ramping up, I took my completed manuscript to all my appointments at the Florida Christian Writers Conference and showed it to anyone who would listen. Two agents said to me, “Come back when you have a thousand Twitter followers, and we will talk to you.”

In other news, I am busy working on my second book in the Eighth Dimension Trilogy. I am most content when I am writing because that is God’s calling on my life. After a busy Thanksgiving and Christmas break, the new year is upon us, ushering in new beginnings. There is no better time to start working on my next book.

I’ve also been enhancing my skills as a CW operator and have over 200 QSOs listed on my QRZ page, including 16 countries. I find it fascinating that I can send dits and dahs around the world and meet people that I never would have met otherwise. It’s amazing to me that so many are Christians. For those who have asked how my cat, James, is doing, who was recently diagnosed with diabetes, he has been doing well on a new pill treatment. He is eighteen, and I hope to have him around for a while longer. I thank Jesus because, for a while, things looked bleak.

I also want to encourage readers of my blog to please pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I will be traveling there soon with a good friend, and I hope that my plans don’t get derailed. We live in very uncertain times. May God have mercy on Israel and the U.S.
