I find it fascinating to reflect on how Adam and Eve had more knowledge about God and Jesus than we do. The Temple in the Garden joined Heaven and Earth. Adam and Eve must have attended the Divine Council meetings referenced in the Old Testament. They would have been familiar with the Sons of God and would have known Jesus intimately as He walked in the garden with them.

God had given Adam and his helpmate, Eve, great responsibility. He trusted the first man and woman He created to tend to the garden. Adam named all the animals and no doubt had the capacity to interact with them. Otherwise, Eve would have been startled when the serpent spoke to her.

How easy it is to think that if we had been in the Garden of Eden instead of Adam and Eve, we would not have been tricked by the serpent into eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Of course, most people with a basic knowledge of the Bible know this story. However, perhaps we forget that Adam and Eve had no concept of death. As far as they were concerned, they were like the angels. They lived in innocence. What would it be like to have no fear, worry, or concern about anything? I bet those words weren’t even part of their vocabulary.

As a young Christian, I thought the Garden of Eden was gone forever. I imagined what it would be like to live in the garden in the presence of Jesus among God’s creatures, adorned with flowers and trees, with no thorns and weeds and no disease that ravaged life. Everything was good.

Then I discovered that the Garden of Eden will return someday, when God destroys all sin and restores His original creation. This is not just a possibility, but a promise. No one can conceive what awaits us on the other side (I Cor 2:9). What we lost in the Garden of Eden is what we long for in our hearts, and someday, God will fulfill that longing.

In the meantime, the serpent still tempts us with the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Nate Sala’s YouTube video does an excellent job of explaining how all of us have eaten from that tree. Whenever we try to do things our own way rather than God’s way, we replace Godly wisdom with human wisdom. What do we often hear: I have my truth, and you have your truth.

When my husband left me, he said, “I know I am making the biggest mistake of my life, but I’m going to do it anyway.” It was easier for him to go his own way than to accept that he had made a grievous mistake, repent, and turn to God. Yes, the pain would have been great. He got his “girlfriend” pregnant after being married to me for seven years. I put him through medical school, and he left me during the third year of his residency.

Sin is always costly. Adam and Eve’s rebellion cost them dearly. Now, we have worldly knowledge, but it’s not Godly knowledge. We’ve all had those experiences where we think we know more than we know and refuse to let God lead us. In our sin, we choose to go our own way. We end up reaping the consequences of what we sow.

Now I must take this knowledge of good and evil one step further. Enter AI: Artificial intelligence. AI is the new Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It is the gateway for the coming apocalypse: The rise of a one-world ruler known as the antichrist. He will use AI to control the nations. He will demand to be worshiped, and for those who won’t, they will be beheaded.

This seven-year period, known as the Tribulation, will be unlike any previous historical event. The Bible tells us this many times throughout the New Testament and hints at it in Joel 2, where it’s referred to as “The Day of the Lord.” Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no one deceives you.” That tells me that deception will be rampant.

He also said in Matthew 24:24, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” I believe false christs and false prophets could deceive some of the elect.

As each new generation of AI comes online, we see an increase in the knowledge of the beast. AI is already becoming so powerful and knowledgeable that it is replacing people in the workforce by the thousands. I truly believe if it weren’t for God and His love for us, we would obliterate ourselves in nuclear war and destroy the planet.

From the beginning, God knew we couldn’t handle that level of knowledge. But because He wanted a relationship with humans and a forever family here on earth, as He had in heaven with the angels, He gave us free will. He didn’t make us robots. We are the only creatures in the entire universe created in His image.

In Joshua 24:15 (NKJV), Joshua challenged the Israelites after entering the Promised Land and conquering large portions of Canaan:

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I see the times we live in as extraordinary. So many things are happening that I never thought I would see in my lifetime, especially with AI. But remember this: No matter how smart AI becomes, it has no soul. It can only mimic what’s real. Even the experts call AI’s mistakes hallucinations.

Despite the bleakness, don’t lose heart. God is still on the throne. He loves you and gave His life for you. The serpent’s time on earth is short, and all that is lost will be restored. Someday, I will be in that paradise; hopefully, you will be, too. And I believe the second Garden of Eden will be more glorious than the first because that’s how it is with God. He saves the best for last because the last will be forever and ever and ever.
