When They Say Peace and Safety

When they say “peace and safety,” beware.

Please stick with me. I have captioned more Fox News in the past few months than I did from 2021 to 2025. During the COVID era, I quit captioning news when I felt like the media was broadcasting lies. If I knew I was writing something that wasn’t true, how was I different from what the Nazis did?

Maybe I could justify it by saying, “I was just doing my job,” but isn’t that what the SS men said? They sent millions of Jews and “unfit” victims to the concentration camps. Why? Because they didn’t want to take responsibility for their horrendous actions.

While I may be exaggerating, people who can’t hear or who are hearing-impaired rely on my captions for the news. I had done much research and knew that what I was writing about the COVID vaccine, in particular related to pregnant women, was inaccurate.

I was also in Washington, D.C., on January 6, and I knew firsthand that the media coverage of that day was misinformation and blatantly inaccurate.

What does this have to do with the title of this post, “When They Say Peace and Safety”? I caption Fox News for many hours each week, and I am keenly aware of what is happening. For this post, I want to focus specifically on Israel, Gaza, and Iran.

When I heard about Trump’s Board of Peace, my knowledge of prophecy sent up red flags. Throughout the Bible, references are made to Israel being “at peace” before she is attacked from the North in the Ezekiel 38-39 War. I am sharing this YouTube video that explains the relationship between President Trump’s efforts to form such a board and the structure and its creation, which must be viewed in light of Biblical prophecy.

I never could have imagined how all the pieces could come together in such a way to fulfill Scripture, and yet they do. The Board of Peace is just one facet, but it’s a big one, and I don’t think Christians have taken it as seriously as they should.

I am blown away by what is happening—with Iran, with Gaza, with the destabilization of the dollar, with the unrest in America, and the infighting between the Democrats and Republicans. Is God going to judge our country by letting us be the victims of our own sins? I don’t know. I keep praying for mercy, even though we don’t deserve it.

From my perspective, Trump’s Board of Peace will serve as the foundation for what comes later, when the Antichrist appears and confirms the covenant with many nations.

“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)”

Sixty nations were invited to join Trump’s Board of Peace. So far, according to newsnationnow.com, these are the nations that have accepted the invitation.

Suppose that Trump’s Board of Peace is wildly successful. Gaza gets rebuilt, Hamas and Hezbollah are suppressed by the Islamic nations that are part of the Board of Peace, Iran is “decapitated,” and Lebanon and Syria are stabilized. I can see Israel becoming a superpower in the Middle East. Trade would also make the surrounding countries wealthy. A huge economic boom would occur, with Gaza perhaps becoming a new vacation destination for many around the world. What a success story!

That would set the stage for the Ezekiel 38 and 39 War.

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your [country to the north of Israel, perhaps Russia and Turkey] mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land (Ezekiel 38:10-12, NKJV).’”

Notice the invader comes to take booty. That is significant. And Israel is dwelling in peace, a land of unwalled villages.

Trump is a builder. Is God using Trump to set the stage and put many of the pieces into place before the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord? I believe God saved Trump’s life so he could fulfill the prophetic events coming upon the world. I also find it interesting that Trump’s name seems so prophetic:

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Cor 15:52, KJV).”

The most important thing we can do is to stay sober and alert. I Peter 5:8 (NIV) says to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

I can’t think of another time in history I would rather be alive than today. We may be witnessing the last days, and hopefully, we will be raptured before the seven-year tribulation. Since I believe in imminence, my goal is to live as if it could happen at any time. Be ready. Be sober. Be vigilant. Our redemption draws nigh.
